Der and Ein Words



The Definite Article in German is different for each of the three genders. The Masculine Definite Article is der, the Feminine Definite Article is die and the Neuter Definite Article is das. The English equivalent of these definite articles is the. The declensions of these definite articles are as follows:

The Indefinite article in German also changes depending on gender but the masculine and neuter form are the same. The Masculine and Neuter Indefinite Article is ein whereas the Feminine Indefinite Article is eine. The declensions of these indefinite articles are as follows:

Nominative ein ein eine eine
Accusative einen ein eine eine
Dative einem einem einer einen



There are some words known as Der words and Ein Words . These words also decline following a similar declension. Here are some examples of Der Words in the masculine nominative:
